Why its common not to see results

There is a huge difference between: ⁠

⁣⁠Regularly attending your workouts, skipping a few days here and there for family meets, enjoying a few treats, and heading into the next month relaxed, rested, and ready to make up for it.

⁣⁠And…⁣⁠

⁣⁠Writing off a whole month after a lazy start!! Assuming there is no point in training until the next month when you KNOW you’re only busy a week or two and could make time for workouts in your schedule! Eating and drinking lots then telling yourself you will fix it in the next month is one reason we might not see progress.⁣⁠

You know what happens..

You get upset that you tossed all your progress out the window, it becomes daunting to get back to the gym and you leave it longer and longer and it all gets harder and harder.⁣⁠

⁣⁠Given that one of the biggest barriers to exercise is lack of time, a break from the usual routine can provide the ideal opportunity to begin or maintain physical activity.” ⁣⁠⁣⁠

Staying regularly active each week, not only reduces your chances of gaining weight, but it also helps energise you, reduces stress, and gives you a break!⁣⁠

Reasons why we don’t see results over a week:

Monday: Motivated ⁣⁠

Tuesday: Focused ⁣⁠

Wednesday: Still going strong ⁣⁠

Thursday: Nailed it ⁣⁠

Friday: Reward myself ⁣⁠

Saturday: Still rewarding ⁣⁠

Sunday: Gone too far…⁣⁠

Monday: Start all over again ⁣⁠

Here’s where its easy to go wrong.⁣⁠

Everyone is motivated all week. They eat perfectly and exactly according to plan. ⁣⁠

⁣⁠They say no to the donuts and they say no to takeaways.⁣⁠

But then it’s Friday! ⁣⁠

By this point, we usually feel pretty proud of ourselves for hitting all of our goals during the week⁣⁠.

⁣⁠We also might be feeling like we missed out on all the things we said no to during the week (Hello deprivation and cravings!!) ⁣⁠

⁣⁠So it’s natural to want to reward ourselves with a treat for being so good all week⁣⁠.

⁣⁠But then it turns into a few more treats than we had planned.

⁣⁠Now the guilt sets in.⁣⁠

This is where the “screw it” thinking starts to creep in.

⁣⁠We feel like “what’s the point? I already screwed up. I’ll wait until Monday to start over”⁣⁠

⁣⁠The truth is, this is the exact formula for staying stuck and frustrated. This is how you never see results or enjoy what you are doing.⁣⁠

⁣⁠If we change the way we feel about eating “good” foods and “bad” foods, we might realise that one “bad” meal does not mean all is lost. ENJOY IT! It’s part of the process.

⁣⁠When you enjoy what you eat, you’re less likely to go off and ruin all your hard work⁣⁠.
