I’m eating less, eating ‘healthier’, I’m exercising AND the scales are STILL the same!
We’ve been conditioned all our life about jumping on those scales, have a huge expectation that the scales ‘should be a certain number’
I’ve coached many people who are petrified of anyone knowing what they weigh!
Embarrassed of the weight they have put on and comparing the number to when they were in their 20’s to now in their 40’s.
Although, yes when training with me, I track your physical progress.
This is more for me, to coach you, so I can ensure you get to your physical goals and take all the thinking out of it for you.
When anyone asks me ‘why is my weight not dropping’.
Instead, I replace those thoughts with questions…
- Are you feeling good?
- Do you feel great in your clothes?
- Has your mood improved?
- Are you lifting heavier weights?
- Is your endurance improving?
YES. to all of that. If you can answer YES to all those questions then you are making significant progress!
So, does it really matter that the scales are not that number you’ve held onto for the last 20 years?
If you are on the right track THAT is progress! Far more important to me than just some number on the scale!
Not only is your body changing from these outcomes BUT so is your mental health, which far outweighs any number!
